Secret Stages 2018

On August 3 and 4, the biggest block party in Birmingham comes to Avondale. The eighth-annual Secret Stages music discovery festival will bring over 50 bands to the Magic City, introducing music lovers to rising acts at the turning-point of their careers.

The Loft Show: Charity at Trim Tab

The Loft Show presents a special charity event at Trim Tab Brewing to support mental health research. On Saturday, May 12, Trim Tab Brewing will host live music, comedy, and graphic arts. The event starts at 4 p.m.

Riding in from Austin, Texas, The Sword will play at Zydeco tonight a 9 p.m. Their set is an inescapable fusillade of rock in its heaviest forms, with pounding riffs and progressive interludes that are both unexpected and viscerally satisfying.

Will Stewart: County Seat

Will Stewart’s contemplative solo effort brings him back to Alabama after several years away. The bittersweet music of County Seat explores feelings of loss, isolation, and the effects of time on the places we call home.

Coming Up: The Rotten Mangos

Between their Revolver-esque vocals and their faithfully trippy guitar/drum combo, The Rotten Mangos take listeners back to the Summer of Love, if the summer of 1967 occurred in present-day Austin, Texas. On Tuesday, January 23, the psychedelic group will play at The Nick in Birmingham.
