The first ever Sloss Music & Arts Festival will take Birmingham by storm on the weekend of July 18 and 19th. Brought to you by Red Mountain Entertainment and AC Entertainment & Energy Management Inc., the event will take place at the historic Sloss Furnaces, creating an environment that will give attendees a rich taste of Birmingham’s unique industrial culture. This two-day experience focuses not only on incredible music but also provides an opportunity to delve into specialty foods, cocktails, and creativity.

The lineup for the festival is jam-packed with over 30 popular artists such as The Avett Brothers, Noah Gundersen, and Judah & The Lion. While similar festivals around Birmingham focus more on up-and-coming talent, Sloss Fest features dozens of well-known artists that are favorites across the country. Whether you’re looking for the lively summer beats of Milo Greene or the haunting melodies of Zella Day, you surely will not be disappointed in this incredible lineup.

Bands will perform across three different stages over the span of two days; this concert event is not something you will want to miss.

Sloss Fest offers a variety of other activities to accompany the music. There will be an assortment of craft beers from award-winning breweries such as Cheaha Brewing Co. and Starr Hill. Lovers of specialty brews can look forward to the debut of The Siren of Sloss Summer Pale Ale, the result of collaboration between Trim Tab Brewing Co. and Starr Hill.

Attendees can also participate in hands-on iron pouring with Sloss Metal Arts in the steel city itself. Feel free to explore tents full of hand-made jewelry, custom posters, paintings and photography as Birmingham artists exhibit a range of their work. Directors of Sloss Fest handpick local art vendors that they feel best embody the eclectic culture that has recently exploded in Birmingham.

Those who love to discover new, original artwork and hidden treasures will love exploring the rows of vendors, and might even find their own spark of creativity amid the inspiring atmosphere.

During this summer season of festivals, Betsy Keiser, Director of Marketing at Red Mountain Entertainment, hopes that “Sloss Fest will be one of the highlights of all the great art festivals that are happening in town,” and that it “will bring something new and different to add to the already great mix!”

Participants can select either a weekend pass or single day pass, and can choose from general admission, VIP, or the “Iron” pass for a fuller experience.

Join the summer Sloss Fest celebration to experience a unique blend of incredible music, food, art and more in the historical atmosphere of Sloss Furnaces. Expect an ambiance that is truly unique to Birmingham and an experience that will make you fall in love with the city all over again.
