Pickin’ in the Park 2014

This Saturday, June 28, Homewood Music will host the first ever Pickin’ in the Park!

A brand new live music festival comes to Homewood Central Park. Musicians, hobbyists, and pickers of all skills are welcome to join in the grand outdoor jam. Bring your acoustic instrument and play along with anyone and everyone. “We want to foster a sense of community among our musicians and neighbors,” says Homewood Music’s Bob Tedrow. “This event is an occasion to come together and share the creativity we have in this community.”

Pickers are welcome to jam with each other or play along with guest musicians like Cottonmouth Creek and Postmodern Renaissance. Two tents will provide shade while a stage will showcase some well-known acts. Free water and ice will be available as well as ice-cold popsicles. Picnics are encouraged. “We’re not making a lot of rules, so it will be a very casual event,” says Tedrow. “Just pull up a chair and play.”

 

 

Pickin’ in the Park will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Homewood Central Park is located at 1632 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209.
