This Saturday, April 11, singer/songwriter Jess Meuse will perform at Moonlight on the Mountain with Edward Hartline and Alexa Rankin.

For Meuse, music is a spiritual experience and she wants to make a positive impact using her gift. Jess was born in Round Rock, Texas and as a child moved all over the country. Over ten years ago she eventually settled in Slapout, Alabama.

Before her American Idol career, Meuse attended school at UAB for a year or so, working on a business major. She ended up transferring to AUM in Montgomery to be closer to the studio she was recording in.

Since her American Idol tour, she has been “doing my best to always be moving forward somehow with my music, so I’m always making time to write, and I’ve actually been in the studio recently.” Besides writing and recording, Jess is also performing regional shows and expanding into the west coast, “which is super exciting!” she says. “I am currently seeking management and actively networking at every opportunity.”

What should fans expect at her upcoming show at Moonlight on the Mountain? “My shows are always meant to connect through music, more than anything,” she says. “I’ve performed to a bartender, to thousands, and been broadcast on live national television – my goal is always the same! I just want to spread love and inspiration through my music in an exciting, fun, creative atmosphere.”

Meuse has always loved music and longed to understand it. When she was a very young child, she would memorize every song she heard on the radio just because she found it fun and loved it. When she performs, she wants her audience to feel the love and joy that she has for music for themselves. “Music has always been something that has made me incredibly happy,” she says. “I knew since I was a kid that it was what I always wanted to do. I’ve been singing all my life, and I picked up violin when I was about 11 or 12. I taught myself guitar and piano and am continuing to learn on a daily basis.”

Listeners will have plenty of time to chat with Meuse and the other musicians at the show. “I haven’t always done meet and greets and sold merchandise at shows,” she says. “This time around, however, I will definitely be hanging out with the audience and doing a meet and greet to get to know some of the people who have made me who I am and allowed me to share my music.”

Jess Meuse has an unreleased single right now that will hopefully be available very soon. Meuse herself commented on the single, “I can’t wait!”
