Battle of the Bands at Avondale Brewing Co. (May 30)

Today at 7 p.m., Avondale Brewing Co. presents their first annual Battle of the Bands. Three bands will play their hearts out for the opportunity to perform at the brewery’s Trunkstock Festival on June 15.

 The three competing bands are Jess Muse of Slapout, Cold Cold Sweats of Florence, and Future Primitives of Birmingham. The brewery is no stranger to excellent live shows, and each of these selected acts represents the awesome talent that can be found in B’ham and the surrounding cities. “Birmingham has a TON of great music and we’re trying to give deserving bands a chance to showcase their talent,” says Bert Trotman, who handles booking for Avondale Brewing Co.    

 After the show, the audience will vote to determine which act will return to Avondale in June to open for the likes of Boombox, Billy Cox Band of Gypsies, and more.

 Avondale Brewing Co. is located at 201 41 St. South, across from Freshfully in Avondale. Tickets are $5.
